sunday breakfast in the east: bloom coffee

As someone who lives in the west, travelling to the opposite end of the island (aka the east) takes me well over an hour. And any journey to the east better be worth it.

Bloom Coffee has to be one of the prettier cafes I’ve been to recently; not to mention its location—the east of course—along a street of shophouses made it feel like I was dining overseas.

Dining outdoors was surprisingly pleasant, considering the wild weather recently. They have a variety of bakes, coffee, and sangas on their menu. Sanga turns out to be an Aussie slang for sandwich, which explains the Aussie vibes I got from the place. If you can’t tell from the photos, they are extremely generous with their sanga fillings; my friend and I could not take a bite without the contents spilling out, where the cleverly used wrapper came in clutch and caught bulk of the mess.

Another plus: once you’re done with your meal, there’s a park connector nearby where you can take a nice stroll (to burn off the calories).
